Top tips for Well-being:

Be open and available- set time for talking. Use the digital books above to support anxious children.

Consistency and routine- children feel safe with routine. Timetable/checklists. If something is changing let them know. Good sleep patterns/rest is very important.

Healthy- encourage a healthy balance between academic tasks and other tasks such as PE, Art, D.T, Mindfulness. Also brain breaks and engaging with friends remotely.

Eating healthy and engaging with exercise is important to well-being. Lots of resources available for this weekly on Class Dojo.

Encourage problem solving- What are some things we can do to keep safe?

What are some fun things we can do to keep calm? Children gain a sense of control.

Working collaboratively- what activities help you to be calm? Model breathing exercises from our Class Dojo tasks.

Looking to the future- Remind children this is temporary. What are they looking forward to when it ends?

Providing a sense of identity- what’s been going well? What hasn’t?
